Baby Bump

This picture was taken last week. It is not a very good shot, but you get the idea of how our girl is growing. As of today I am at 31 weeks.

Here is a 31 week update from the “What to Expect” website:
As far as growth goes, your baby's still on a roll, measuring an impressive 18 inches and weighing in at more than three pounds. You can still expect your baby to gain at least three to five pounds, possibly more, before you two meet. Your baby's brain is working overtime these days, developing faster than ever. Connections between individual nerve cells are growing at a frenetic clip, and your baby can now perceive information from all five senses. Sure, your baby can't smell anything right now, but that's only because he or she is still submerged in amniotic fluid and needs to be breathing air to get a whiff of anything. Lucky for you — and your baby — yours will be one of the very first scents your baby breathes in, a scent that will quickly become his or her very favorite.
So what's your little dove doing all day while you're busy feathering your nest for his or her arrival? Making faces, hiccupping, swallowing, breathing, pedaling with little hands and feet along your uterine wall, and even sucking his or her thumb. In fact, some babies suck their thumbs so vigorously while in the womb that they're born with a callus on their thumb (what a little sucker!).

Bingo Update

We did not come out winning at Bingo last night…well Colie maybe could have. She, Rachel and I were too busy laughing and telling stories that we didn’t even notice that she was crumpling her bingo card up and tossing it in the trash - ½ way through the game!!! Haha!
Others sure noticed and I was aware of all of the strange looks that we were getting. Oh well, next time we are destined to win!

BINGO

Wish us luck!!!!

We are off to play Bingo tonight for Colie's B-day!

Woo Hoo!
I know some of you have laughed or think that I am NOT very classy for visiting the local Bingo palaces, but really...it is a lot of fun. If you don't believe me, I invite you to join me sometime:)
Last night Mickey and I did watch the "Video" at birthing class. I think he did better with it than I did. I got a little squeamish and a little teary at the end. I am glad we watched it & I think we will be seeing many more like that in the classes to come. I did miss my mom at class though...haha!
...The Love Boat...that picture just screams Happy Birthday if you ask me:)

Birthday Shout Out

Happy Birthday Hope, Steve & Colie!!!!
We all hope you guys have a wonderful day and a fantastic year.

Funny Story - Thanks mom!

Mickey and I are signed up for birthing classes. Well last Tuesday he had the flu and could not join me for class. Luckily – my mother joined me for the evening. Thinking that we might be watching ‘THE VIDEO’ that night, she arrived to my house with a fresh bag of popcorn! Haha – no movie is complete without that! Haha!

Anyway, all was going well and mom was great to have by my side. At the end of the night the teacher goes over relaxation techniques and then has us try out a new technique with our partner. This is a guided technique and we were asked to keep quiet during the exercise as she wants people to get the most out of it.
So mom and I grabbed our pillows and blankets and moved to the corner of the room. Good thing we did!!!!

It starts off with me focusing on my feet, tighten and then release…bla bla bla…and your partner is suppose to be rubbing the area that they are guiding us through…feet, ankle, calf, thigh, buttocks (wait) WHAT?!?! Haha – so mother dearest starts nearing her hand up toward my rear, I gently slapped her hand away and looked at her as we busted out laughing. Hahaaaaa!!!! We couldn’t stop laughing!!!! It was the kind of laughter that you get at church – it starts to hurt because you can’t let it out. We had our faces in our pillows and were just shaking and giggling the rest of the exercise! Haha – I am sure the teacher was aware of our muzzled laughter, we were lucky we were not asked to leave.

I have to say that was one of the funniest times of my life and we laughed the whole way home.

Thanks again mom! You give the best butt rubs ever!!!!

Ps – Mickey and I have class tonight and I think we are going to watch ‘The Video’ this week. I hope he doesn’t get sick tonight…haha...at least not until after the movie! Wish us luck!

Backing up...

Gonna back up for a second - Pictures of our baby girl!

Here is our baby at 13 weeks (actually 12 weeks, the Dr. pushed the due date back.)
They took this picture because they were not able to hear the heartbeat for the first couple of appointments. So Dr. Chang hauled us into another room hooked up the ultra sound machine and there she was. We still were not able to hear her heartbeat at the time – but we could see it flickering and know she was there. We were scared for a minute and then soon enough tears of joy were streaming down our faces…it was pretty awesome!

Now here she is at 21 weeks (actually only 20)
This was the day that we found out baby Wiltscheck was a girl after all. This appointment was very cool. The ultrasound tech was great and we got to see a lot of our little girl! She was moving a lot and we were told that we have “a very active child”.

A very active child she is indeed. We have found that she LOVES when I am laying down for bed and enjoys dancing and kicking the night away. It is such a great feeling and fun to watch as you see my belly moving around. The other night I had a dream that she was a drummer in a band (like her Great Grandma Ad) so I awoke and sure enough ~ she was drumming away!

I can only imagine what our active child is going to be like in the future!

Test 1-2-3

Hello family, friends or anyone who is reading this...
I have several friends now who are "bloggers", most of which are all long distance from me. I have really enjoyed reading and keeping up with their lives from their blogs.

If you don't know already - we are almost at our baby time and a new chapter of our lives are going to begin very soon. As of Wednesday, I am 30 weeks pregnant. That gives us 68 days to prepare for our baby girl.

I started to think that maybe starting a blog is not such a bad idea - this would help me let people know what we are up to and how the baby is doing. Now I can also update the blog and talk all about our little one without making people listen to me ramble on and on...hahah..you can always choose not to read it:)

So anyway, here we go ~ Welcome to the wonderful Wiltscheck Family Blog!
