Night in Jail...

Saturday my mom and sister took me out on an 'All Inclusive Birthday Surprise Date'. We started the day with whipping Spin-outs in the winery parking lot. (I love doing that!) Then we went in for for wine tasting and picked up a few for the way. Along the way we also ate junk food and stopped at a fantastic antique shop! At one point I pulled the car over, was blind folded with a diaper and was escorted down the road. They took me to the Old Jail House B&B in Taylor's Falls. Wow - the things my mother & Kate think of:)

This is one of the oldest Jail's in MN. It was renovated to be a B&B. The thing we soon realized (after reading the guest book) is that this Jail is haunted (or so they say.) So we called my dad who started doing some searching. It didn't take him very long to pull up some stories. Apparently this is one on MN's top "Haunted" places. Hmmm....

We went out to a great restaurant in town. It was delicious and to top it off - Chocolate Almond Bacon Ice-cream was on the desert list! Done & Done! I had to try it. Bacon is my favorite food:) It did not disappoint.

We made our way back to the Jail, played some games and drank more wine:) Kate and I made our way to a bar that was a block away during my mom's power nap. We met some fun people & played some pool. Mom soon joined us. We love these small townie bars! It was so friendly - they let Kate go behind the bar & make drinks, great Juke Box dancing, a little dancing on the bars, some free drinks and to top it all of Kate & I were still in our PJ's! Oh yes - many of the locals told us Ghost stories about the jail, their homes, and other places around town...freaky...

Near bar close we made our wait back to Jail again. Just in case, I had asked the spirits not to bother us while we were sleeping. They listened:)

In the morning we were served breakfast. We were also given the opportunity to talk to the staff about some of the occurrences and take a tour of the rest of the place. With everything that was said - they still have not made a believer out of my mother:) She thinks they are all in Cahoots. I...am ...not ...so... sure...BOOOOO!

Thanks Kate & Mom for a wonderful trip! You are the best!

PS - have you ever heard that if a spirit is around and you take a pic that you will see spots? Check out the last couple of pics...crazy!

24 Hour Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

I hope you all had a wonderful, relaxing and exciting holiday!
Ours was very fun and busy. I love the holidays so I wouldn't have it any other way.

Mickey had to work until 2 on Christmas Eve. So Lily and I did all of the final prep and packed up. We were down at the Friedges' first. It has always been one of my favorite past times. It still is. I am really lucky to have such a fun family:) This is a pic of Great Grand Kids. There are two more on the way. Congrats again Natalie and Nikki!

We made it down to New Ulm around 10:00. I was able to enjoy the ride and sing Christmas carol's without any objections the whole way down! Thanks Mic! The next morning we opened gifts with Ann & Gary and went to mass.

That afternoon we were at Grandma Ad's with the Wiltcheck Clan. This was much fun too. And the big excitement was the new engagement for Gene & Kris! Congrats you two kids!

We were back to SSP by 8.
Mickey was back to work this morning. I hung out with Lily all day and Jen stopped by for a visit.

The end.

Christmas with the Waldschmidts

HoHoHo! Let the celebrations begin!

This past weekend we had a very special Waldschmidt Christmas. It was full of smiles, laughter, food, Wii Bowling and being lazy! It was perfect! I always love Christmas at my parents house. It is always so cozy and comfortable. Thanks mom & dad for hosting and Thanks to you, Dan, Kate, Steve, Zoe & Ellie for all of the wonderful gifts! I am a huge fan of the Baby Grand Piano! I have almost mastered all three songs. Lily likes it too! hahah!
Lily also enjoyed licking your glass door. She can't wait to sleep over again next week!

Oh - in case you are trying to read Dan's shirt it says:
"I may not be Mr. Right...but you can USE me until he gets here."
I think this offer is available for all of my single female readers. (your welcome Dan! haha)

Going Going Going - Rest!

Lily does not stop moving. It seems like we are always chasing her. I am sure Nanny Pat gets a good work out just following her every day. I had to share these pics, since it is not very often that we have a chance to take a picture of her sleeping.

Ho Ho Ho - part 3

Saturday afternoon we had one of my favorite family traditions. Bell Ringing for the Salvation Army! We always have so much fun!!! We do it at the Lakeville Fleet Farm (they are pretty much one of the only places that allows singing anymore.) and that is what we do...we sing! Enjoy!!!
(I am trying to post video - but so far - not successful)

Ho Ho Ho - part 2

Friday was Lily's first day with the Zwebers (Kate will be watching her every other Friday - as I am back to work now.) I am so lucky to have such a great sister, who can help me like this. Lily LOVED it. She had so much fun playing with the girls.

Friday night, Dan had a Christmas party at his group home. Unfortunately that was canceled, so we all went over to the Zweber's for some chili and a movie. (Not Pizza & Yahtzee as I thought - they tricked us. Hahaaa!)

Ho Ho Ho

It was a very busy week and full of Holiday Cheer!
Tuesday we had baby class. Lily missed last week because she was sick - so she really enjoyed seeing all of her little buddies.

Wednesday night I met up with my mom & sister to bake cookies. It is through a community education class. We take it every year with the Cammi & Friends. Always a fun night. I think Kate posted a pic from the night - love the hair net!

Thursday morning - I took some time off to be with my baby. We did have an appointment that was canceled - so that was nice...more time to see my girl:)

Thursday night was the annual UMF Girls Holidazzle outing. It was so much fun.
(Also some pics from Friday at Lunch - why you ask...I have no idea....)

Weekend Update

Lily turned 8 Months Old!!!
Every day with her gets to be even more fun. She is so funny and we can see her personality shinning through. We are constantly chasing her now. One of her favorite things to play with is a bucket of potatoes.

On Friday night we had plans to go see Wicked with our friends Mark & Jess. Unfortunately Mickey got sick, too sick to go. Poor guy. Rachel was so kind to join me on the double date at the last minute. It was a great night out with dinner at Palomino's, the wonderful show and a couple of cocktails. BUT Mickey was missed.

Saturday we let Mickey have some additional R&R. Lily and I went to Jen's with Rachel & Donella for Christmas Cookie decorating fun! Jen had everything all ready. So many cookies and so many options of decorating supplies. It was much fun.

Today I got some shopping in! Whew! I also stopped at the South Saint Paul's Lions Club Christmas Tree place. I was debating buying a sled and pulling home my tree (only 12 blocks away.) I didn't need to do that. The men working were so kind. Right away they asked me if I came with a car or a truck. Car. Then they offered to drive it home for me! How sweet!

Let's Bring on the Holiday Spirit!

Coolest thing ever!

Check this out! My dad made a snow plow for his power chair!!!
Dad - you will have to market & sell these! So awesome! hahaaaaaaa.....
PS - you can plow my sidewalk anytime!

Check it out!

You'll have to view it on Kate's Blog:

Weekend Update

Wow! I am very far behind on my blogging. Sorry guys!

It was a wonderful Turkey Day weekend!

Thursday we went down to New Ulm. We has dinner at Kris & Gene's it was so nice and I was very happy to see that they had green bean casserole! YUM! We were able to spend some good time with the family, including Amy who was in town. Ann and I did some good Black Friday Shopping, starting at about 5. Later that afternoon I was able to visit a retired co-worker of mine who lives in NU. It was so great to visit with Mary. While Lily and I were out visiting - Mickey, his parents and Amy went out to a tree farm and chopped one down. It was beautiful. Lily loved watching Grandpa Gary put the lights on the tree.

Saturday we drove down to Iowa for the Waldschmidt Thanksgiving. It was a great turn out. (approx. 65???) After dinner many of us went back to the hotel, sat around the pool and enjoyed a cocktail or two. The night ended at the casino (attached to the hotel). We all had so much fun playing and laughing.

Sunday we were back at home. Mickey went to the Vikings game with the boys. Lily ended up getting sick and she still is today. I think it is a combo of a bug and some teething. Hopefully she will be back to herself soon.

It was a great weekend!
