I did it!

I did it! I successfully watched 3 busy and/or needy children all day today! Lily and I went down to my sisters to watch the girls for the day. We had a wonderful time (we always do.) Zoe and I had a blast playing and Ellie moves very fast these days:) The 3 girls just love each other! There was one point today that I think Lily and Ellie were talking to each other and really bonded. I couldn't understand what they were saying but both girls had smiles on their faces and seemed to enjoy the conversation.
(PS - Crystal you really do Rock as a mom!)

Tonight my aunt Pat and uncle Lew came over for dinner. We needed to sort out some logistics of our future child care and it has been a couple of weeks since Lily has seen Pat. Again we are soooooo blessed to have Pat watching Lily. I know going back to work will be hard for me regardless, but I am so happy to know that my baby is in good hands:) Thanks again!

(PS - Co-workers, I am planning on returning June 30. I am also looking forward to seeing you guys next week!)

Meeting Lil's future hubby - Blake

Last night we went over to Trish and Dave's place to meet the newest addition to the family. Blake is adorable! I think they really hit it off. It was so nice to hang out and talk about everything.

We all decided last night that no one really tells you how hard the first 3 weeks with a newborn can be. It is wonderful - but also very exhausting, tiring and overwhelming. I think you gear up so much for the actual labor and don't think about much work those first weeks are.

Talking to Trish and Dave made us realize how far we have come. I think we have really turned a corner with Lily. Sleeping is much better. Feeding is so much easier. She is much more alert. We are able to read her cues more often. I feel like myself again and now she SMILES for us (and it is not just gas.) Sure, we do have our harder days - but we have really come so far!!! Brian - my mom told me that you thought the same thing from just reading the blog:) You were right!

Also - we realize how much Lily has grown in the last month and a half. She always seemed so small...but when she is next to Blake she looks so big. I believe we'll see him again at kickball tonight and then happy new couple see each other again!

Congrats again Trish, Dave and Blake! You are all doing great!!!!!!

Thanks George W

Well - I don't necessarily agree with the Economic Stimulus Check from the government...but...we found it our civic duty to use it. I have to say the table and chairs that we got for only $100 6 years ago worked just fine, but it was time to upgrade. I hope it finds a new happy home:)

- looks like the rug my have to grow a little...hmm... : )

Seven weeks already!

It was a very nice long weekend.
Saturday morning Lily and I joined Rachel with a trip to Gerten's. It was a nice day to walk around the place and we loved spending time with Ra. Later we worked around the house and enjoyed the time at home.

Sunday Hope and Scott came over at about noon. They live in Chicago and we treasure the time that we get to spend with them. Hope was a great resource during the pregnancy and even the labor (via phone). So it was very special for Lily to finally get to meet them.

We sat out on the deck all day and night, grilled and had a few drinks. While Scott was feeding Lily we noticed that he had something yellow on his shirt. We were grilling so we asked if it was mustard - it was not! haha! Lily welcomed Scott to our home with a little poo!!! haha! Sorry Scott - but it was one of the funniest things ever! haha!!!!! He was a great sport! (ps, I believe the stain did come out of the shirt:) We can't wait to see you guys again!

Yesterday we went down to my parents house along with my grandpa and grandma. I gave Mickey a hair cut while we were there. My dad, Daniel and I decided that it would be funny if we left just Mickey's bangs longer and cut the rest short. It was hard not to laugh every time we looked at him. haha! We got a kick out of it, but he made sure his hair was back to normal before we went home. Bankers can't have hair like that! haha!

That's all for now. We hope you had a nice Memorial Day!

Last night Lori came over to baby-sit for us. This was Lily's first sitter. She was well behaved, Lori not so much...we saw a ton of guys running out of the house when we pulled up and beer cans all over! hmmm.....we may have to dock her pay!!! haha - only kidding:) Thanks Lori!

Mrs. Barlog came to visit

We had a very nice few days. My dear friend Colleen (College roommate, my favorite European companion and great chit chatter) came to visit. She got in on Monday and left this morning. She was itching to meet Lily and she wanted to help out around the house. I told her that she could hold Lily and talk to me while I did some good cleaning...but now looking around a bit I realize that I did very little cleaning. Oh well - it was just great to have her with us!

Yesterday we took a nice long walk / shop day on Grand & Summit avenues. It was so nice out and Lily enjoy the walk too. Then last night we went to Colie, Guido & Ronan's along with Rachel and Mickey. It is so wonderful having the girls together - I wish we all lived closer.
Thank you Cal - I miss you already!

Today Lily and I are chilling, maybe get in a work out, nice walk and a nap. This evening Mickey and I are attending a class to get Lily baptized. Lori will be watching Lily while we are gone. Her very first baby sitter. I will have to have a talk with her so she is on her best behavior. :)

We will be missing kickball tonight - so good luck team! Make us proud!!!

(we had the boys pose for a picture too:) haha)

Go Zoe!!!

I am a proud auntie again! Our little Zoe had her first Dance recital this weekend. She preformed on Saturday and Sunday. I was able to attend the second show. She did so great! I am so proud of her. In my opinion - she was the BEST in her class. I think she was the only kid in her class that I actually watched, still she was great!

(Lily's future Boyfriend)

6 weeks

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment...I encourage you to keep doing so and to the others out there who didn't:)

6 weeks today! I can't believe it! My Dr told me that the first six weeks you are still trying to figure so much out and the next six weeks you enjoy all of the new and exciting things. I agree with that. All ready it seems like Lily is more alert and interactive every day. I love it!!!

Recap: Wednesday night we went to kickball. It was such a beautiful day and a great night to attend the game. Yep - our team won! They are #1!!! It was so nice to see a bunch of my friends again.

Thursday morning Dan came over. The 3 of us went garage sale-ing all day. It was so much fun. Again a BEAUTIFUL day out side. Dan loves to garage sale even more than I do - he is also great at getting the deals. Everyone enjoys talking to him and then when he tries to make the better offer, they always say 'For you...Anything!' It is great! I think I enjoy it so much because I love to shop, be outside, get a great walk and look at other peoples junk! haha!

Friday Lily and I went on a nice long walk with Jess and her son Ben. Along the way I was pooped on by a bird!!! Ha-ha! We all got a good laugh and hopefully I will have some good luck coming my way because of it!

This morning Colie and I made our way to the Minneapolis Farmers Market! I had a Brat for breakfast! Yum! We will go again. It was very fun and the longest amount of time I have had away from my Nugget. I missed her - but I think it was good for us all to take this time. She and Mickey enjoyed the alone time.

This afternoon we have a pig roast at the Tasto's and tomorrow is Zoe's dance recital! I can't wait to see her on stage!!!

Have a great weekend!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

Happy Mothers Day
to all of the mothers reading!
You are all appreciated:)

We had a very nice mothers day. We started with the Race for the Cure. We participate every year with a large group. Breast Cancer Awareness is very important to me as it has affected too many that I love - Grandma Alice, Aunt Virgie, Aunt Rita and Karen Zweber. It also took the life of a dear friend, 2nd mother to me, wonderful neighbor, my mom's best friend ~ Paulette Cloutier. We love and miss her more than I can even explain. That is why the walk is so important to all of us.

After the walk we went to Prior Lake to celebrate Mother's Day with the Friedges Family. Lily loved meeting so many family members this weekend.

Then we made it home for some much needed R&R! :)

Saturday

Saturday we made our way down to New Ulm to visit Grandpa Gary and Grandma Ann. We wanted to celebrate Mother's Day with Ann and Grandma Ad. It was great to see them and all of the other Wiltscheck's who stopped over for a visit. It was so nice. This was the longest amount of time that Lily spent in the car. She did great!
