Monday - no babes yet

It was nice weekend. Went out for dinner/lunch, did some shopping, hang out with my family, went for a walk, watched several movies, did some cleaning, but no baby this weekend. Thanks Mickey and everyone who helped distract me, I needed it.

I found myself writing a blog yesterday morning and Mickey came in the room as I was doing so. He read over my shoulder and shook his head. It was kind of negative. I was venting about my frustration and what I wish would just happen. After thinking about it – he was right. So I decided not to post it.

I need to stay positive and know that she will come when she is ready. Like my boss said – I bet she is just holding out for that diamond birthstone now. Can you blame her really? Haha….

Well – have a great Monday. Enjoy the snow storm coming today :)

Friday Night

2 pictures:

The first is of a very special gift I was delivered yesterday from my dear friend Kiley. She and her husband Chris live in Crested Butte, CO. Anyway - I had to share a picture of this diaper cake. She put so much time and energy into making it. Thank you so muck Kiley! I LOVE it - it is beautiful and we just love the 'W' you painted to match her room. You are the best!

The next is a T-shirt my mom got me when we were shopping a couple of weeks ago. We all (she, Kate and I) had to laugh we she spotted it on the clearance rack! haha! Thanks mom! (it says "The Rumors are True, I'm pregnant!")

Thank you Donella for hanging out and having dinner tonight. It was so great to sit down and catch up with you. I always love our talks!

Lastly - I missed some B-day shout outs this past week and all to co-workers of mine...Heidi is now 30, Carrie turned 29 and Adam will be celebrating his 30th tomorrow! Happy B-day Buddies!

Friday 3/28

I'm still here. No baby yet. I am pretty anxious and finding myself getting pretty frustrated too. I wish I could be more patient. It is something for me to work on. I have been feeling a lot of movement and some Braxton Hicks contractions...but nothing consistent enough to think I am in labor. Anyway - we'll keep you updated. Have a wonderful Friday!

7 days

Happy Birthday Guido!!!!

Let the final countdown begin...

Less than 7 full days to go:) Hopefully it will be even sooner than that. I had a Dr.'s appointment today. My normal Dr. is on vacation this week, so another Dr. saw me. This is the second time I have had this one and I really like her too.

Anyway, we continue to be on track and looking good. I am still at 2 and 80%. This Dr. was again happy with my progress (even if it has stayed the same). The baby has dropped and is at -1 for staging. This Dr. also offered to strip/sweep my membranes this week. This is a process that they do to 'kick start' the labor. It is a normal practice that is usually between weeks 38-41. Mickey and I had talked about this ahead of time and I decided that I would not ask the Dr. to do it, but if they offered - I was not opposed. SO...! Yes - it did hurt, but it was a great opportunity to practice my breathing techniques! haha!

This does not mean that I will be in labor right away. It may not change her arrival at all, it may be a couple days sooner or it could be tonight! (Keep your fingers crossed for tonight! haha)
I am just so excited and READY.

Easter

Hello everyone...we're still here. With a 8 days to go now, I am feeling MORE than ready to go. I haven't been feeling the best - a lot of pressure, cramping and very little sleep. Oh well. I know it will all be worth it:) Hopefully REALLY soon.

Here are some pictures from Easter.
Kelly - I am SOOOO glad you won the big bunny! Enjoy:)

Walking this baby out

What a B-E-A-U-tiful SPRING weekend:)

Yesterday was swimming with Dan and Zoe. Grandma Mary, Kate and Ellie were there too. I love to float!

Last night I went out with Rachel, Jen, Lori & Nicole to Boca Chica! The food was great but hanging out with the girls was even better!

This morning my mom called and asked if I wanted to play photographer with her around the city. Well duh - I would LOVE to do that.
A photography tip from my mom: to get the best shot you need to find a different angle (meaning going places where you are not suppose to and laying in the snow when needed! haha) We had a lot of fun. And hopefully I was able to walk a lot of this baby out.
Thanks Mom!

Benihana YUM YUM

This past Sunday evening we were able to go to one of my favorite places...Benihana! If you haven't been there - I recommend you go:)

We were able to go with the New Ulm-ers. That would be a bunch of Mickey's HS friends and significant others. I love it when we get together with that group. It is always a good time and all of us 'others' get a long so well too.

Sunday we were able to celebrate Derek's 30 Birthday...again - haha! (he just had one in November). It was a great night.

38 down, 2 to go

I had my Dr.’s apt this morning. Everything looks good and is still on track. I am still dilated 2 cm and 80% effaced. The Dr is still happy with my progress and things that when I do start to go into Labor it will come on strong. I should have asked her to elaborate on what she meant by that, instead I just smiled and said ‘GREAT’! (haha - oh Anne!)

She did give me the placement of the baby and the part of my stomach that seems to be jabbed at constantly is her little elbow (Next to her back). It is a tight squeeze and we are running out of room in the womb. Hang in there baby – you are almost out.

testing - testing 1 - 2 - 3

Today Kate, Daniel, Zoe & Ellie came over for a visit. Every time the girls come over it is a great opportunity to test out some of Baby Wiltscheck's things:)

Happy Baby Shower Trish!

Saturday afternoon I attended a baby shower for my friend and blog peeper, Trisha Schultz! It was a very nice shower hosted by her sister in Chaska.

We met Trish and Dave through kickball and know that they will be good friends for many years ahead. It is has been nice comparing notes with them, as our due dates are about a month and 1/2 apart. I am sure we will have my play dates in the future.

PS - they are having a boy!

One Year Ago

Mickey and I were talking about how different our lives will be a week from now, a year now, five years...anyway it got us thinking about what we were doing around this time last year. We took a trip to Winter, Wisconsin with a bunch of friends. Needless to say we had a great time... and we know there will be many more exciting times ahead:) Enjoy the video's - the one of Colie by herself is the BEST! haha!!!!!!

cute baby girl

Dad - this is for you!
Have a great weekend!

TGIF

Last night I must have dropped my phone when I got out of my car. Later when I went out and I must have run over it. Mickey found it – but it was too late. My phone is a goner. So we went to the T-Mobile store and got it replaced. (Well I should say – we replaced Mickey’s and I took his old phone.)

Anyway…I lost about ½ of the numbers that I had saved in my phone. So….don’t be surprised if you get an e-mail from me asking for yours. Or…just feel free to call me – so I can put it in there.
Thanks!

37 week progress report

I had my Dr.’s apt yesterday and I was dilated to 2 and still effaced 80%. She seemed impressed with my progress and said that everything is on schedule. I tried to see if I was ahead of schedule at all…haha...she said I didn’t want to ask that question, because I don’t want to be disappointed. So as of today my due date is the same – April 2nd. Anyone out there want to guess when they think baby Wiltscheck will make her grand entrance???

Here is a picture of Chef Mickey from Let’s Dish last night.

I do have to say that both he and I were impressed and everything that we made looks great! We can’t wait to dig in.

Almost there...

37 weeks today!!!

That means that we are now considered to be Full Term! Awesome!
I have a Dr.'s appointment this afternoon, so we will see then how we are progressing. I am hoping that the Dr. will tell me that we will be good to go very soon.

I am feeling more ready at work and have been meeting with co-workers to get everyone trained in on some of my stuff.
We are feeling ready at home too. Last night Mickey reorganized our kitchen cabinets to make room for the baby bottles & dishes. The other night I spent some time in her bedroom making sure that all of her clothes are washed and organized in the closet and her dresser. I even used post-its to label what each stack is, so that Mickey should be able to dress her with out any problems:) We'll see how that goes! haha!

Tonight we are going to do Let's Dish. That is a place where we make and freeze a bunch of meals. We thought this would be helpful when we bring our Lil' Girl home, we wont have to worry about dinner for a while. I will let you all know how that goes.

That is all for now.

Weekend Update

I hope you all had a nice weekend...we sure did and as always it flew by.

Friday night I went with Colie and Rachel down to Treasure Island Casino to see the World's most gifted psychic - Gary Spivey! Well...I think we were hoping for this amazing show and to be left in awe, but that was not the case. We said next time we should just buy a magic 8 ball instead. Oh well. We still had a great time hanging out and we hit a few machines too:)

Saturday Mickey and I worked around the house, I did a little shopping, we picked up Ann & Gary from the airport and went out for dinner. They were out in Colorado Springs visiting Mickey's sister Amy & her husband Bruce. From what they said - it sounds like they all had a wonderful week.

Sunday was Waldschmidt Family Fun day. It started at church and then just hanging out at mom & dad's in Randolph (and a little shopping with Mom & Kate in Northfield.) As always, we had a great time. I enjoy being there so much and staying so cozy by the fire. And we can't get enough of Zoe Anne Zweber Princess and Count Scrunch A-Lot (a.k.a. Ellie.)

So yes...it was a very nice weekend. BUT - I have also been feeling much more pressure & cramping and it was not the most comfortable few days of my life. I am not going to complain though...it's all for the best cause in the world!

Child Care Update

Well…I am very happy to report that we have been extremely blessed!

We have our child care plans set and they couldn't be better.
My God-mother / Aunt Pat will be our provider 4 days a week! She will be in our home a few days a week and in her home one day a week. She is one of the most kind, patient people I know. We are so lucky and truly bless that she will be taking care of our baby girl.

The 5th day was still up in the air until recently. I talked with my boss, who several times earlier said she wanted to be flexible with me. Well - she was, I proposed working 4 ten hour days at work. She didn’t think that was the best option, since the day gets to be so long and to have an infant at home & I will want as much tome with her as I can get. So instead she suggested that I work 4 nine hour days at work and 4 hours from home though out the week! I will be home every Friday with our baby. Wow! I am so excited and this is the best news I could have received from her.

Anyway – thank you for your prayers! I know we are very lucky to have the people in our lives that we have.

36 weeks

I had my 36th week appointment today. I will be having one every week until the baby is born. (I‘m due in 4 weeks – Woo Hoo!!!)

Everything is going well, baby girl is on track. I am dilated to 1 cm. and 80% effaced. Dr. Chang was happy with these results. She was also happy to hear that I am cramping up a lot (which it may not be the most comfortable feeling; it is the best thing for now.) The goal is to not go past my due date.

FYI: In our baby class the instructor said to think of it at opening a flower and melting butter…both need to happen to get the babes out. I know – Too Much Information and Gross! Sorry!!!

If you want to see the technical side of that explanation – here is what the ‘What to Expect’ web site said about dilation and effacement:

My Hope

Well I am sad to say that I won’t make it to a very special party this weekend that I had been looking forward to.

This weekend my good friend Hope, her husband Scott and friends are celebrating her challenging and successful fight against Hodgkin’s Lymphoma this year. She started her fight with chemo at the end of August and the Dr.’s had awesome news for her around Christmas saying that she was done with chemo treatments!!!! In 2008 she completed almost a month of daily radiation and is finished with that now too. She will have more scans and check ups in the future – but right now – it is time to celebrate!

So this weekend they are celebrating this defeat! Hope and her husband live in Chicago and the party is in Chi-Town. Being that I only have 4 weeks to go, it is not wise to travel that far. But I do think if I were to go in to labor there – I would be in the best hands. Hope is a Nurse in Labor and Delivery. She is also finishing up her degree to be a Nurse Practitioner. How great would it be to have one of my best friends deliver our baby?!?!?!

Anyway – Hope – as always, I will be thinking of you. I am so proud of you! You are truly an amazing person and I am blessed to be your friend. Love you!

Safe travels D&D!

*PS – this picture was taken at our 80’s party on New Years…so if you think they are dressed funny – that’s why:)

Thank You - Thank You - Thank You

Thanks to all who came to the baby shower this weekend.
I know many of you traveled from deep in the middle of Wisconsin. Just seeing you all this weekend was so much appreciated. Others of you - not as far...but it was GREAT to see you all. I am very thankful for all our my friends and family. Thanks again for everything - you are all way too generous!

As special thank you to Rachel and Colie for hosting - you did a great job! Everything was perfect. And another special thanks to Jen - who way over did herself in the kitchen..Again:)

Mickey also wanted to thank several for the wonderful gifts that he received too...Piggy bank, Tax deduction shirt, Lullaby CD of Bob Marley songs and Jack!!

You all RULE. And our daughter is excited to meet everyone...in about a month:)
